Bollywood film Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, featuring Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra as the lead pair, will most likely hit the screens in June after the release of the Salman Khan starrer Bharat, says a report.
The release of Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, that features Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra as the lead pair has being delayed for a long time. The black comedy, directed by Dibakar Banerjee, was earlier slated to hit the screens on August 3, 2018. Due to unknown reasons, its release date was pushed to March 1, 2019.
The makers, in a statement, said that to avoid a clash with Luka Chuppi and Sonchiriya, they decided to further postpone Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar and that they were looking at a ‘clear release window.’ If a report on Bollywood Hungama is to be believed, they seem to have found the ‘window’ and are all set to arrive in cinemas in the third or fourth week of June after the release of the Salman Khan-starrer Bharat on Eid.
According to a source in the report has been quoted as saying, “The producers, Yash Raj Films, have most probably decided to release this film in the third or fourth week of June, after the big Eid release, Salman Khan-starrer Bharat, will be out on June 5. The producers are even thinking of April or May. If they get a window in these two months, they might plan to hit the screens earlier. But mostly, they are eyeing June.”
The report quotes a source as saying that Arjun and Parineeti’s dry run at the box-office is the reason why Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar is being held back from release by YRF. It suggests that by June, Arjun Kapoor’s India’s Most Wanted (May 24) and Parineeti’s Jabariya Jodi (May 17) will be released. YRF team are hoping that these two films will elevate the track records of the two stars, which will eventually help the business of Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar.
